can you reuse a hypertech power programmer 3 after it has already been installed on a vehicle? I have 2 that have been installed previously, but the trucks had the stock programs re-installed prior to selling them.

The way handhelds work is pretty simple... it holds a tune... when you load the tune on your truck it takes the stock tune and saves it on the handheld... essentially swapping tunes out.
So to answer your question... as long as it was used to put the previous vehicle back to stock you can use it literally an unlimited number of times.

They can be used on compatible vehicles, but you can only tune one vehicle. You cant leave a hypertech tune in one truck and try to tune another truck also. Handhelds vin lock to one vehicle in order to stay in business.
