When exactly did The Rock start getting lazy, with not trying and all of a sudden, his movies explode financially?

I'm sure when The Rock started appearing in movies in the early 2000s, he had intentions of actually acting & taking it seriously, he's never & never will be nominated for an Oscar, but as time went on, he started giving up more and more each movie in the late 2000s, he was still cool in Fast Five, but I think Journey 2: Mysterious Island (2012) was where he began his obsession for jungles, and ever since that movie in the last 10 years, he's given up performances completely, and he's getting a juggernaut of box office money for just playing interchangeable characters who are always ex-Cops, agents, soldiers, martial artists who work with Kevin Hart or Ryan Reynolds. Always wearing tan shirts in jungles, making weird quips because The Rock thinks he's funny, the same boring old predictable mediocre plot. He's become a parody of himself. The Rock can't act, and here's proof, have you ever seen him act out pain emotion like crying or sadness in anything, no because he can't cry act, so don't expect to see him in any drama movies. If all The Rock's characters met in 1 room like that SNL sketch where they have 1 actor meet his iconic characters, it'd be 20 Rock clones. Man's ego is off the roof, doing movies for the money with his company 7 Bucks. And now, he ruined the DCEU with 1 movie because he doesn't actually care about the source material, he just wanted to be in a superhero movie for the sake of it. I'm sure he is a nice guy as a person, but as an actor, he is terrible. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/nxlO8tE
