What Makes Brad Pitt SO Attractive? | Brad Pitt Fashion Style Guide
By Clara
Here at Karen Henriksen HQ, we are taking a cheeky look at the male cast of Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once upon a time in Hollywood’ as a way to examine a variety of men’s face shapes.
Knowing your face shape could be useful to understand what hat designs could be more flattering for you. Here are some examples and Karen’s expert hat-wearing tips for each face shape.

Round face shapes
Round face shapes generally have a rounded outline, wide cheeks and sometimes a wide forehead too.
Hat wearing tips for round face shapes
-Consider hats that add some height to your look
-Add some asymmetry, either by choosing an asymmetric style, or by wearing your hat/flat cap at an angle
-Avoid rounded hat styles. Instead go for more sculpted/angular designs.

Oblong face shapes
Oblong face shapes are generally long with a square outline. A high forehead can accentuate the impression of length.
Hat wearing tips for oblong face shapes
-Avoid any style that adds height. Wear your hat/ flat cap forward rather than back to give your face some balance.
-Choose a style with a round feel and with a little width. This is especially good if you have angular features.
-Avoid shallow fitting flat caps, go for deep fitting flat cap styles instead.

Square face shapes
A prominent jaw can accentuate the squareness of the square face shape, but not all square face shapes are angular. It’s no coincidence that both actors below wear their hair longer: it helps to soften the features of their face shape.
Hat wearing tips for square face shapes
-Choose a hat with a rounded, soft outline
-Add some asymmetry to your look, either by choosing a hat with an asymmetric design, or by wearing your hat/flat cap at an angle
-Avoid angular hat designs

Heart / Oval face shapes
Heart shape faces tend to have a more pointed chin, sometimes with a wider forehead. Oval face shapes are longish and rounded.
Hat wearing tips for heart / oval face shapes
-Focus on styles that don’t add too much width.
-Add a little asymmetry to your look by wearing your hat to one side or choosing an asymmetric design
-Choose deep fitting flat caps
-Choose short brimmed hats with a narrow crown
-Avoid hats with a rounded outline, go for a structured design instead
Oval face shapes suit lots of different styles, so if you have an oval face shape you’re in luck!

What is my face shape?
After reading this, you may be thinking:
“This is all very well, but what on earth is my face shape?”
Ask your friends / family to take a good look at your face! It’s generally easier for others to see.
You can also try looking at the mirror straight on, and squinting slightly. Focus on the general outline of your face, and try not to be distracted by any other elements such as your hair style, beard etc.
Since we've begun the conversation on men’s face shapes, we are finding that most people are more than one shape, i.e. heart shape/oval and so on.
Understanding what shape your face is can be a useful starting point on your hat wearing journey.
The most important thing is to experiment and have fun though - which hat will be the one that suits you, and reflects your personality best?
