Today, we are showing you one of Mongolia’s BEST dishes: KHORKHOG (Mongolian BBQ)!!! This unique dish is a FAVORITE among the local nomadic Mongolians. We are taking you to a family ger to catch a sheep and cook it into the delicious Khorkhog barbecue. You can see the process from start to finish in the beautiful Mongolian steppe. We will also show you a RARE Mongolian alcoholic drink which has a DANGEROUS process. It is known as AIRAG. We will be watching the family milk mares (female horses) and turn it into the delicious fermented milk Airag. It can be dangerous to collect as the mares are known to be aggressive. The Khorkhog together with airag was a delicious meal and sharing it with the nomadic herder family was a great experience!
