Bell Moto -9 Flex Off-Road Motorcycle Helmet

Interesting Features

The Bell Moto-9 Flex helmet comes with three protective layers, which in other words means excellent protection. The more layers between you and the ground, the better. Whether you are riding slow or fast, it will protect you in any incident. It is built to prevent riders from getting severe concussions and debris from getting through the helmet.

The cheek pads in this helmet are also removable, so in case there is an accident or any excessive sweating, it is easy to remove and clean for the next ride. In any case of emergency, the pads can be removed so emergency responders can easily take the helmet off. Not only are they washable, but also replaceable for continued and long-lasting use of the helmet!

General Info

Most dirt bike helmets weigh between three and four pounds. This helmet is about average weight for a dirt bike helmet, weighing around 3.19 pounds. Its carbon shell construction gives it excellent performance reviews. This is a comfortable weight for women, no pressure or inability to move the head with added weight and discomfort.

The ventilation system is not only built into the front of the helmet but also in the back, opting for maximum airflow and breathability for the rider. As stated before, the padding in this is helmet exceptional, being removable and replaceable, which makes it long-lasting and well worth the price paid for its durability.

Fit

This helmet has an enormous size selection, ranging from extra small all the way to XXL! Because of this large sizing range, it is easy to find a helmet to fit whatever head. (See chart below for sizes)

Appeal

Not only is the color and combination range the largest I have ever seen, these helmets even come in glossy and matte. Every color from the rainbow in any combination imaginable is available to any rider’s dream. Some come with words written on them, some with just the logo, and so much more. The visor even has a spiky look to it making it look killer, if not intimidating.

Price

With a price tag of $499.95, it looks to be about the average price of most of the helmets that were created towards the beginning of 2018. However, you are paying for many of the newer features that have been added.

Fox Racing V3. (Kila, Motif, Baz, Matte Carbon)

Interesting Features

Something particularly unique about this helmet is its multi-directional absorption of falling on impact. Most helmets are tested if riders only were to fall straight down, which is unlikely in most if not all situations, so this helmet already has high safety ratings and does a spectacular job of keeping one’s head safe.

This helmet is designed to absorb the shock impact and protect the rider from getting any serious concussions. Fox itself designed a magnetic visor detaching system, which prevents the helmet from grabbing the ground in the case of an unplanned accident.

General Info

This dirt bike helmet is roughly two and a half pounds, which is much smaller than most regular helmets, making it fit easily to the head and more comfortable to withstand. It even comes with ventilation, allowing for a cooler fit and optimum airflow. The mouthpiece of the helmet has perfectly placed permeated holes along with slits on each side.

On the inside of the helmet are custom cheek pads and lining, which adds for improved protection and overall higher safety ratings when tested in crash simulations. The cheek pads are removable, which is a good feature to have in all dirt bike helmets, adding to the longevity and overall protection of riders.

Fit

This helmet comes in sizes XS, Small, Medium, and Large, which is quite a large range. It fits true to size, so ensure to measure yourself before purchasing the helmet to get exactly what you need. In order to know which size of the helmet you need, see the chart below for reference!

Appeal

Whether you are a woman that prefers a splash of color, or more muted tones, this helmet comes in both! With the iconic Fox brand logo on the side and top of the helmet, one can get this helmet in multi colors, with reds, blues, and yellows; if you still want something with less color and vibrancy, blues and silvers may be what you prefer, or even in plain simple black and white. There’s a style for every type of woman who enjoys going for long weekend adventures.

Price

This helmet averagely runs for $499.95. Though it isn’t too horribly pricy, it is top-rated for its safety performance, in which case that is what one would be paying more for. Always safety first!

6D ATR-2 Circuit Helmet

Interesting Features

When riders are thrown from their bike, the most harm is always caused to the head. 6D decided to design a helmet that has two layers; the outer, multi-impact layer, and the inner layer. The outer layer specifically has dampening effects, to better protect the head and brain from bouncing on impact. The inner layer is specifically replaceable and washable in case of accidents or anything such as sweating and things of the like.

A more highlighted feature of this helmet is the design that it has cervical protection. What this means is that in the case in which an incident where this helmet gets pushed down and makes its way to the neck or shoulders, they are protected from excessive bruising or being broken.

General Info

This helmet is an average weight, being only 3.16 pounds. It isn’t heavy and is still a perfect fit for all female riders. It has air-gap ventilation, which is shown to be a great way to add breathability and great airflow to the rider. Moving from back to front, it helps to prevent the sweat and allow for a breeze, which I am a huge fan of.

With a washable Dri-lex liner, it gives this helmet the ability to last long and live through lots of wear and tear. This liner absorbs sweat quickly, which also adds to the cooling-down factor immensely.

Fit

This helmet also comes in all sizes, ranging from extra small all the way to XXL! It’s important o be inclusive and give options. (Check the sizing chart below to know which helmet is right for you.)

Appeal

There are only four styles of this helmet to choose from, so it can be more difficult to pick which one you prefer. With black, brown, blue, and white as the four color choices, it doesn’t have much of a range but can be perfect for those who prefer more a simplistic look, or ability to blend into the background, this helmet could be perfect for you! On the contrary, the racing stripes along the top and sides do look rather bold and geometric.

Price

This helmet is far pricier, with a starting average price of $695.00. Though it may be more expensive than most of the helmets on this list, it is rebuildable, so it is cost effective and has a three-year warranty. Plus, who doesn’t want to have a helmet that isn’t a hotbox?

Shoei VFX-W – EVO

Interesting Features

One of my personal favorites in the line-up of best helmets for women is Shoei. It is one of the top-rated helmets in the nation, if not the world. This helmet is certainly long overdue, especially with all of its latest upgrades. This helmet is basically shock-proof; in the case of an impact, the Shoei VFX-W helmet absorbs the impact, and then distributes the energy in a safe manner, creating a cloud of comfort for the rider. (Also known as M.E.D.S.)

Its shell is built in such a durable way that it would take a laser to cut through it. With removable cheek pads and lining, in the case of an emergency, there is no jostling of the head so as to easily remove the helmet.

With a large eye-port, there is optimal room to see all surroundings, instead of having to continue moving the head to view whatever branches or rocks may magically appear. Not only is it great for seeing everything around you, but it is also large enough to fit goggles if that is what the rider prefers.

General Info

Along with many of the other helmets on this list, this helmet sits at a comfortable weight of 3.3 pounds, which is about average weight for a dirt bike helmet. This helmet continues to out-perform many helmets, with sixteen ventilation holes, with optimum cool-air intake and hot-air expulsion. Each vent is placed in a unique way in order for it to not only be aerodynamic but for this excellent cooling technique.

Like all of the helmets above, the lining and cheek pads are easily removed, which means easily cleaned and replaced when necessary. With a Max-Dry liner, sweat drys two times faster, leaving riders cooler. The three-dimensional shape of the lining molds to the shape of any rider’s head, optimal absorption of impact and comfort.

Fit

This helmet comes in a large range of sizes, from extra small to XXL, suitable for all riders. Along with its padding inside, it fits perfectly to all head sizes. (See chart below to find the perfect size for you.)

Appeal

With over a dozen color combinations and designs, this helmet is super unique and can be colored to even match your outfit. With icy blues, tiger oranges, and even simple jet black in glossy or matte, there are so many choices to pick from. Being aerodynamic, it has a slim look, very feminine and sleek.

Price

It depends on which helmet you are looking at for pricing. The simpler helmets, either black or white, will be $529.00. On the other hand, the more colorful or designed helmets will be $679.00. It is a bit pricy, but you are paying for the comfort, the ventilation, and even the unique designs each helmet comes with. Price is nothing when you pay for the qualities you get in a helmet.

Troy Lee SE4 Factory Carbon

Interesting Features

Each dirt bike helmet is built with different layers and safety features in order to protect riders from any brain injuries. It has three specific layers to greater protect the brain in the case of a concussion. Whether going for a stroll on one’s dirt bike or headed out to the race track, this helmet is designed to absorb in the impact at any speed.

The expanded chin bar is built for optimal protection in the incident a rider was to land face first. The helmet is designed to clip to the head and remain that way until its removal. The shell is designed with a Carbon/Kevlar composite shell, making it tough as nails and durable to any ground one may accidentally smash into.

General Info

This helmet is far lighter than any other average helmet, with a composite weight of 2.4 pounds, being one of the lightest helmets in the line-up. Being that it has an incredible amount of features, but with the unique Carbon/Kevlar shell, it would explain its remarkable weight and yet still be able to protect the head so well. It has greater frontal absorption than most of the leading competitors.

Though the ventilation system is only on the top and back of the helmet, it still has a remarkable, 21 ventilation ports, which will instantly cool the head and prevent excessive sweating or over-heating. All of the vents are large, which creates negative pressure, drawing away from the hot air quickly and allows for a massive cooling, keeping rider’s heads comfortable.

This helmet is simple to disassemble after a long weekend ride. The Dri-max lining easily absorbs sweat and can be cycle-washed for continued use. It’s certainly an important feature to be able to remove and replace parts quickly on a helmet.

Fit

This dirt bike helmet ranges in sizes from extra small to double extra large, which is the standard size range for dirt bikes. (View the chart below to see the measurements for the best size for you.)

Appeal

Really, the most standard of blacks, matte, is what is offered by the official website, but there are opportunities to custom design this helmet but will cost a little extra to do. However, black is never a bad option and always looks very sleek and classy on any woman. It gives you the choice to make the helmet your own, tailored to your design needs.

Price

For the standard black helmet, the price is $650.00, according to the Troy Lee website. With design options, it will go up from there, especially with multiple colors and words. This helmet does have a great ventilation system, so it is exceptional for hot climates, especially if you are always riding in the summer, so that is something you could be paying for.

Arai VX-Pro 4 Helmet – Spike

Interesting Features

This helmet is designed and targeted towards comfort. The visor is much larger and wider, protecting riders from the beating rays of the sun. If you look at the underside of the visor as well, there is a black sticker that reduces the chances of glaring. On the inside and edges of a visor are large vents, enhancing the circulation of air for optimum coolness.

The shell is made with super-fiber, which is 30% stronger than the standard fiberglass helmets. Because of this choice in material, it makes materials harder to penetrate the exterior if the rider is thrown from the bike. The smoothness of the helmet prevents riders from snagging and catching on protruding things as they tumble to the ground.

This helmet even comes with a notch to keep your goggles in place. This is a great feature to have if that is something you prefer to ride with to keep dust and bugs out of your eyes. Even in the case of a crash and tumbling through the underbrush, those goggles won’t move an inch.

General Info

This helmet is definitely a heavier option, weighing about 5.1 pounds. Not necessarily optimal in the way of weight, but with its unique materials, it has excellent safety features that make up for it.

Most of the ventilation is located at the top and rear of the shell, which is great for airflow. Since the shell of the helmet is designed to be smooth, there aren’t a lot of vents, so it doesn’t necessarily cool down as well as most of the other helmets.

With a multi-density foam lining inside, this helmet can protect from all angles, preventing the case of a concussion or brain damage. This particular type of material further creates the aurora of comfort, which is really what we are going for here.

Fit

Just like all of the other helmets in any lineup, the sizes range from extra small to double extra large, giving a wide selection to any shape and size. (For further information on sizing, please see the chart below for exact measurements.)

Appeal

In my own personal opinion, this helmet has some very fun and unique designs, with galaxy and camo as options. There are variations of blue, brown, orange and yellow, also including your standard black as a viable choice. There are styles for all riders, whether your personality is outspoken or more muted tones, there are choices for everyone.

Price

Of course, depending on the design and size that you choose and need is what the price will be. Some are as low as $377.58, and some are as high as $674.95. It is important to purchase a helmet that not only fits you (or your wife’s) head but looks fantastic.

LS2 Subverter MX470

Interesting Features

This dirt bike helmet offers a unique spin on the average material that is used on dirt bike helmets, as this particular model is designed with a Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA) for the overall shell, which is kind of flexible, in being able to manage pressure and give a little in order to transfer the energy and protect the head. It is, in fact, one of the lightest helmets created, making it superbly comfortable and yet durable in its own way.

There is also a metal security plate on the side of the helmet which reinforces the chin strap. This is an added safety measure that is exclusive to the LS2 helmets, making it an excellent helmet for safety and protection.

General Info

Because of the use of the Kinetic Polymer Alloy, this helmet is lighter, with an average weight of 3.2 pounds, which sits comfortably on any head and is breathable for only the best comfort.

Not only is this helmet light-weight, but it also has an astounding 35 air ventilation ports. I’m not sure about anyone else, but to feel the sweat dissipate instantly is the greatest feeling in the world. With this amount of air-ports, the airflow is remarkable and helps riders to feel cool and no need to stop and wipe the sweat away.

As is average with all standard dirt bike helmets, the padding is always removable, so that after every ride, the sweat, dirt, and ick from the track is easily washed away as if it were brand new. The padding for the LS2 is laser cut to fit perfectly and cup the head for the best comfort and fit.

Fit

This helmet does, of course, come in the standard sizes of extra small all the way up to double extra large. (In order to find the best fit for you, see the table below for exact measurements.)

Appeal

It is more exciting to purchase a helmet that comes in your type of personality. Well, you are in luck, as this helmet comes in eight different vibrant, and some standard colors, for every woman of any age. With the average colors of white and blue is something simple, or they even have an American Flag helmet, alongside a helmet in chrome reds. Whatever you’re looking for, these vibrant and unique choices are exciting for all.

Price

These helmets can start out at 159.95, depending on retailers, and go up in price from there, depending on the style and size of the helmet that is purchased.

O’Neal Racing Women’s 3 Series Freerider

Interesting Features

Not all dirt bike helmets are created the same with the same design and intentions in mind. Something that not all of them come with is an adjustable visor. This helmet offers an adjustable visor for any rider who needs more or less coverage and the ability to see.

It is made of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), which is a flexible and very durable helmet but is also lightweight for a great and comfortable fit. It’s a unique take on a great helmet!

General Info

The average weight of this helmet is also incredibly light, with a weight of 3.19 pounds, which is incredibly comfortable and one of the lightest helmets on the market. It’s important to have a helmet that not only fits but isn’t horribly heavy and causing strain on one’s neck or pressure on the head.

This helmet comes with dozen of ventilation ports, making it a great candidate for not only optimum airflow, but for great comfort. It is important to purchase a helmet that allows for airflow, as it will get incredibly stuffy, sweaty, and difficult to ride.

It comes with ultra-lush padding alongside the inside of the the helmet, giving it just that extra boost of comfort. This does come with removable padding, but it’s good to check all helmets for this, as it helps with washing and maintaining the helmet’s longevity.

Fit

This helmet comes in sizes extra small to double extra large, which is really standard for most dirt bike helmets, giving a wide range and allowing for wiggle room if necessary. (To find your perfect size, see the chart below.)

Appeal

Though there isn’t an enormous selection of colors and combinations, this helmet does have some beauty perks. With a unique geometric pattern and the brand logo along both sides, it comes in black, yellow, blue, and a few other colors and combinations that can appeal to any woman who desires an affordable and comfortable helmet.

Price

This helmet is affordable, causing it to continually sell out rather quickly. The average price of this helmet is $119.99, which is an incredibly affordable helmet, and is quite the steal of a deal that you won’t want to miss.
