One million is a lot, even today. Whether it’s dollars or miles, one million is still a very large number. While the world spent most of March and April trying to avoid a million of anything related to COVID-19, the RV LIFE network was quietly watching its online community of RV enthusiasts power past the 1 million member plateau.
While achieving this mark in the middle of a worldwide pandemic is noteworthy, what makes this feat all the more remarkable is that the bulk of the growth has occurred at no cost to the RV community it embraces. The majority of the over twenty-five active websites, forums, and digital RV lifestyle magazines that RV LIFE offers are completely free of charge.
Humble Beginnings
From what started as a hobby to help other RVers navigate the tricky waters of restoring a classic Airstream, AIRforums.com was born. Once CEO and founder Andy Robinowitz was bitten by the RV bug, it wasn’t long before community staples like iRV2.com and Campground Reviews were added to the RV LIFE Network family. With a reputation for unbiased reviews and fair administration these sites grew tremendously, spawning additional forums, classified sites, and online magazines.
RVLIFE.com and DoItYourselfRV.com became daily staples for the camper looking for relevant RVing information while enjoying their morning coffee. With the addition of CamperReport.com, the RV LIFE network rounds out a hat trick of exciting digital content magazines for today’s RVers.
Recently, RV LIFE merged two of their paid subscription products to help RVers take their trip planning and route navigation to the next level. The extremely popular RV Trip Wizard is now paired with the RV LIFE GPS & Campgrounds app for a single, low-priced subscription. This makes it easier for members to access the products, and offers unmatched value.
It’s About the People
Despite all of these great tools and resources, what has made the growth to 1 million members possible are the people. The very members that rank among the million, are its greatest asset. RVers are a helpful bunch. With an attitude of “I’ve been there, I can help”, RVers contribute to the success that RV LIFE has enjoyed. Even during difficult times, like the recent pandemic, RVers were seeking advice from others across the network, and finding willing recipients to respond. It’s why at a time when social media seems to take over the narrative, the RV LIFE Network is as strong as ever, and growing.
As Robinowitz emphasized, “It’s not really about us, or what we offer. It’s about the people, the community. They are what makes RV LIFE successful.”
One million is a lot, yes. As more and more RVers discover the RV LIFE network and the resources it offers, two million could be right around the corner.
