Drive Safer After Dark With This Night Vision System

Driving at night in an RV, especially a big Class A motorhome, can feel treacherous. It never seems like the lights are bright enough or go far enough, particularly if it is also raining or the visibility is poor for other reasons.

Many RVers get around the low visibility by driving during daylight hours. But anyone who has ever gone traveling with an RV knows things happen—schedules change, traffic gets heavy, and every once in a while, driving at night isn’t avoidable.

The Lanmodo Vast 1080p Automotive Night Vision System can light up the night.

The night vision system uses active infrared and light magnification to provide a bright color picture on its 8.2-inch screen. It doesn’t take much light to provide a clear image. Moonlight or distant streetlights will suffice. In the right conditions, it boosts your night vision from 250 feet with high beams to more than 900 feet.

The Lanmodo Vast has a Sony camera on one side and a screen on the other. It plugs into your cigarette lighter OBD port and can be mounted on a window via suction cup or directly on a dashboard with a non-slip pad.

A real-life example of the camera in use can be seen in the YouTube video below.

For RVers, this device can do more than help you see where you’re going at night or help you spot animals or pedestrians in the road. Motorhome owners may be able to use the color night vision camera to view nighttime wildlife outside their RV or to keep an eye on the outside world at night while boondocking. It has also proven to be useful in rainy and foggy weather conditions.
