Airstream Just Unveiled The New 2020 Atlas

Airstream recently introduced one of their most luxurious touring coaches yet: the 2020 Atlas, a Class B+ RV based on a Mercedes-Benz sprinter van chassis.

Their latest touring coach, inspired by the popular Airstream Interstate series, is just 24 feet long with state-of-the-art features including a residential-style bathroom that spans the entire rear of the motorhome, as well as a power slide-out to make things even more roomy and comfortable.

Dozens of modern features come standard on the Atlas including a power slideout, a Murphy suite bed, a hideaway 40″ widescreen TV with a soundbar, adjustable LED lighting and more.

The coach comes equipped with an Onan 3.2kw diesel generator for quiet and efficient power when you don’t have 30-amp hookups available. It also comes outfitted with a 300-watt solar power system in addition to two 12-volt deep-cycle AGM batteries and a 1,000-watt pure sine inverter.

Above the sofa bed is a built-in sunroof with a power shade and screen, so you can allow the sun and fresh air in whenever you’d like. The 15,000 BTU air conditioning system also quickly cools the motorhome when you need additional climate control.

In the galley is a Kohler faucet and sink with a solid surface countertop and aluminum backsplash. An extension pull-out shelf provides even more counter space, while the drop-in wastebasket with a surface cover makes it easy to throw things away while still keeping the trash out of sight.

With the slideout extended, the power sofa can be pulled down into a large Murphy bed with a Froli® Ergonomic Bed Support System. Shelves and reading lights are easy to access from the bed as well as USB charging ports.

The Samsung LED Smart TV rises into position across from the sofa bed by the press of a button; when it’s not in use, it can stay hidden away inside an entertainment cabinet underneath the counter.

The three-part bathroom, in the rear of the motorhome behind a pocket door, was designed with a residential-style layout including a vanity, a porcelain toilet, and a corner shower with a teak shower inlay as well as a tankless water heater for endless hot water. The Kohler stainless steel faucets and fixtures add another touch of elegance to the Atlas’s design.

Another convenient feature in the new Atlas’s bathroom is the amount of wardrobe space already built in. The bathroom houses a cedar-lined wardrobe with lots of hanging storage space as well as drawers for folded clothes.

The rear of the Atlas features Airstream’s exclusive Air Ride Suspension, which adjusts itself to bumps in the road, changes in elevation, and changes in wind resistance, to give you a smoother ride while driving. Rear and side-view cameras come included as well as a range of additional built-in safety features.

The slideout is not the only impressive power-controlled feature on the new Atlas. It also sports an armless power awning that automatically retracts when it detects windy weather. The coach has automatic steps as well, which extend and retract when you open and close the cabin door.

A range of interior decor options are offered including Modern Griege, Tommy Bahama Special Edition, Refined Brown, Lux White, and Formal Black.

The 2020 Atlas starts at $238,071 with just one perfected floor plan available. For more information, visit their website Airstream.com.
