What’s an example of a movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously and knows exactly what it is?

The movie that comes to mind for me is Pacific Rim. It feels like the effort for this movie went into expensive CGI scenes with robots punching kaiju monsters. And I cannot say how much I appreciate this choice. The plot is straight forward, the characters are fine, and there’s no ham fisted love story injected into the script. It’s just a big blockbuster movie with gigantic robots punching huge monsters, and I love every minute.I’m curious if people have any other movies that fit the criteria? Doesn’t have to be an action movie, though this is probably the genre with the most examples. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3CCHT9B
