First of all sorry for my bad english it isnt my first language. I love movies from the Soviet Union and i cannot recommend them enough. All movies listed here are available on Youtube and i will provide a link for each of them further below. In this Post i ll try to pitch to you a couple of my favourite movies from the 60s-80s that were created in the soviet union (the movies are in Russian but there are English subtitels).Ivan Vasilievich Changes Profession is a comedy directed by Leonid Gaidai about a scientist who created a time machine and accidentaly send his landlord and a unfortunate thief back in time to the Rein of Zar Ivan the Terrible while the Zar who is a lockalike of the Landlord is send into the Future. 10/10Operation Y and Shurik's Other Adventures is a collection of 3 short films each around 30 minutes.In the first short film shurik decieves a drunk who didnt want to give up his seat for a pregnant woman to give hear the seat by pretending to be a Blind man. The drunk didnt take it so well and ended up in a fight which lead to him getting 15 days of social service an a constructionsite where shurik is working. Ofc they dont get along and the whole situation ends up like an episode of Tom and Jerry. 8,5/10Shurik is trying to study for his college finals but he cant find anyone with notes and idk how to procede to describe this short film without spoiling it but i think the idea is quite neat but you gotta see it for yourself. 8/10A man Hires 3 Thiefs to break into a wearhouse guarded by a Babushka but she asks shurik to replace him last minute and so the thiefs plan goes south. 8/10The movies are also by Gaidai and they are all fantastic and very neat.Kidnapping, Caucasian StyleShurik is tricked into kidnapping a girl for a wedding forced upon her and once he realizes what he has done he tries to free her from her future husband. A nice lovestory with one of my favourite toasts ever (rougly translated) My Grandfather once said: i want to buy a house but i cant. I can buy a goat but i dont want to. so let us drink to that our wishes are one with our options. 9/10The Diamond Arm is a movies about a man who by coincidence got his arm put in a cast full of diamonds. The bad guys are trying to retrive back the diamonds .No further details because of spoilers. 9/10The Elusive Avengers is a movie about 4 teenagers during the civil war in the Soviet Union who are trying to get revenge on a local warlord for killing the father of one of the Teenagers. Imo the depiction of the civil war in the Udssr is quite interessting and altough i havent watched the movie in some time it has a few memorable moments. 8/10(it has 2 sequels but i dont remember them1: The New Adventures of the Elusive Avengers2: The Crown of the Russian Empire 1The Crown of the Russian Empire 2)I hope you watch the movies and if so i would love to hear your reviews. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3kGQNxi
