What’s your favorite “this movie has no right being this good” movie? A movie where either the trailer, plot, cast, etc point to it being trash but it turned out to be great

For me it’s the movie Warrior. I remember watching the trailer and thinking it was going to be another by-the-numbers sports flick. The trailer even committed the sin of telegraphing what happens in the climax. Seemed like some big bro-out fighting movie that tried to ram some moral message about family in it. Starred relatively unknown (at the time) Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton.Ended up seeing it in theaters and it blew away my expectations. Well acted, good pacing, and while the main plot line is thin the movie builds up the characters backstories enough to help bolster it. Highly recommend if you haven’t seen it. The fighting isn’t realistic but overall a solid 8.5/10 movie. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2Zl5TNb
